King Kamehameha

King Kamehameha (1758 – 1819) was the king of all of the Hawaiian Islands. Kamehameha's mother was Kekuiapoiwa, daughter of a Kona chief. His father was Keoua, chief of Kohala. But in order to be the king, he had to battle for his place as a monarch. On May 1975, he battled King Kalanikupule for his rule of Oahu. He was a leader that changed the history of Hawaii. He united Hawaii under one monarchy. King Kamehameha made Hawaii a better place because he always put his people first.

  1. King Kamehameha "always put his people first"? He put them first in line to be slaughtered at the Nu'uanu Pali. You must be a brown nationalist. The U.S. didn't slaughter thousands of Native Hawaiians, but somehow they're "evil" and Kamehameha the murderer is "great". The hypocrisy here is beyond belief.

    1. Um hello!! Do you even know what happened when the U.S. came to Hawaii. They overthrew the Hawaiian Government and Queen Liliuokalani lost her power and her people. She was locked up in her own palace and she couldn't do anything about it. The U.S. annexed Hawaii in 1898, Hawaiians had no say in it. The Hawaiians were forced to live under the
U.S. after that, this is really sad that the U.S. did this to Hawaii especially because I am Hawaiian. Back in the old Hawaii there was a bunch of chiefs that had control over a district of land. If a chief wanted more land he declared war on that island and went to invade it. Kamehameha's conquest of the islands was his destiny, thats why so many Ali'i wanted him killed at his birth. They knew that he would be the one to unite the islands under one rule. After he united the islands he made sure that they stayed united by setting up a system of government for the Hawaiian people. Kamehameha was a great ruler and he deserves to be respected.
